Vs Knebworth

Tyrrell – Kept wicket nicely, but didn’t get even the faintest of chances. Got a first ball dismissal to cap an unusually quiet day.

B. Underwood – Fielded well if a touch unusually, but batted in a traditional and classy way to put valuable runs on the board. With a touch of luck could have gone on to make a big score.

Leigh – A real masterclass in the balance between patience and aggression as he recorded a record innings for the club. A trademark straight six was the highlight.

A. Underwood – Didn’t settle at the crease and returned to the hutch with a duck to his name.

M. Cox – Fielded with vigour on his comeback from knee surgery, but got out before he got going with the bat.

Rose – Bowled a nice little opening spell to return excellent figures and snaffle a wicket. Took a super catch in the gully and supported Sheridan in good style to help rebuild the innings.

Downing – Bowled a nice offering of containment bowling and was very unlucky not to get amongst the wickets. Batted very well until playing an ill judged shot that ultimately cost Rosaneri victory.

Mi. Freeman – Opened the bowling with a good spell that wasn’t done justice by his figures on paper. Sacrificed his usual batting role to try and engineer victory as skipper and as a result didn’t make an impact on the scoreboard.

Ma. Freeman – Good honest bowling as usual and came out to bat with huge confidence levels. Started the innings very well, but the fall of his wicket spelt disaster for all Rosaneri fans.

Ni. Shewring – Bowled in two spells and took a wicket in each. Ended up not out with the bat which was a shame as he had looked determined to get the game won.

Mitchell – Bowled hard and fast to earn his first five fer for Rosaneri. The batsmen looked all over the place at times and this type of opposition rout has been on the cards for a long time with his amazing consistency. The batting disappointed though as the pink fans know he is capable of so much more.
