Crash, bang, wallop

The 2007 Rosaneri cricket season is now assured to get off to an all action start with the confirmation of our latest fixture against Northampton Exiles Cricket Club on Sunday the 13th of May.

The match will take place on their home pitch which is on The Clowes Sports Ground, Winchmore Hill, just off Barrowell Green. The exact format of the game has not yet been decided, but is likely to be either 40 overs per side or a timed match.

The significance of a timed match is that the draw becomes an added possibility to the usual limited overs format of either winning or losing.

The season commences on the 5th of May and is now followed up with matches on the 13th and 20th. We have waited for six months for this season to get under way, and now we have something that we can really get our teeth stuck into. Just think, by the evening of the 20th of May the 2007 averages will have really taken shape.

Between now and the May lift off we must continue the hard work of solid practice. Remember nets have stepped up a level and we are now back using real balls at The Hatfield Cricket Centre starting tonight at 9pm.
