Classy batting sees the pinks home

The measurable progress of Rosaneri Cricket Club continues as the Harlow vets were dispatched on Sunday. It was not just that the pinks won, it was the fashion in which they won that was important.

For the third game running the vets got to 120 odd and declared, but this year it was no where near enough. The Rosaneri batting department is now stronger than it has ever been and Mr Bell and Sheridan got the job done with the minimum of fuss.

The Test match like pace of the game made it difficult for a few fielders to keep their concentration, but the bowlers quietly did their thing and the Vets total was kept to an absolute minimum.

Nick was the pick of the wicket takers by snaffling a 3 fer, while Mat Freeman and Jimmy Mitchell only gave away 19 runs between them in 16 overs.

The Rosaneri reply with the bat did start nervously and at one point the pinks were 14 for 2, but a century partnership for the 3rd wicket saw a comfortable victory secured.

The match was played in the very best of spirits and as usual our day out with the Vets was an absolute pleasure.
