Vs St Margaretsbury

Mi. Freeman – Nibbled at a good away swinger and paid the price of an early trip back to the pavilion. Fielded well and unlucky not to get a go with the ball with wickets being a priority.

Downing – Only faced 3 balls as a makeshift opening batsman and looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights against a great opening attack. Bowled a couple of tidy overs, which got a few ooh’s and coo’s, but no wicket.

Leigh – A proper case of after the Lord Mayors Show following his last innings against Dunmow. Lost patience and skied one to mid off.

Jones – In the context of the game and for the sake of Rosaneri fans everywhere, this was probably the greatest innings in the club’s history. He was dropped early on, but set about rebuilding pride from the early wreckage to return a magnificent half century.

B. Underwood – Bravely resisted the oppo onslaught and assisted Adam to rebuild the innings. Added valuable runs and was unlucky not to go on and accumulate a whole load more.

G. Cox – Showed spirit with the bat until undone by a very good young spinner. Bowled very nicely but didn’t make any notches on the wickets stick.

Ma. Freeman – Batted with tangible determination and looked untroubled until his brain disconnected and he ran himself out. Bowled himself too late in proceedings, but when he did bowl it was well worth the wait. Very fiery and very accurate to record super smart figures.

Rose – Another who ran himself out, although to be fair he did fall on his sword to let Adam continue his one man crusade. Made an early breakthrough with the ball as he mixed up usual bag of super and poor with nothing in between.

McHugh – Chipped in with vital runs and was probably unlucky to be given out lbw to one on the back thigh. Gave a lesson in wicket keeping excellence by being neat and tidy and not conceding a single bye. However, did blot his copybook by dropping a sitter.

N. Shewring – No joy with the bat and bowled well to give the batsmen loads to think about. Only picked up the one wicket despite generating chances that deserved more.

S. Underwood – Bowled a good line and length to ask questions of a decent batting line up, and unlucky to draw a blank when wickets were needed.
