Vs Cotswolds

Mi. Freeman – Batted superbly in a lovely opening partnership to get the Pinks off to a super start. Balanced the need to attack with the assurance of no early mishaps. Fielded keenly and made a breathtaking diving stop to stop a certain four.

Sparrey – Looked stylish and assured in a crucial knock of 41 to put The Cotswolds attack under pressure. Mixed calculated tight singles with carefree attacking elegance that rubbed confidence onto the rest of the Rosaneri batting line up.

Alfieri – Added vital runs and spent time out in the middle to absorb some attacking bowling from The Animal.

Cully – Took the fight to The Cotswolds with the bat to record an excellent 33. Kept wicket to the very highest standard and didn’t let a single bye through in an almost professional display.

A. Underwood – Batted with determination and aggression, but holed out before he had big runs on the board. Took two stunning catches on the run which were massively significant in breaking opposition resistance.

Rose – Never got going with the bat, but bowled very well to snaffle two massive wickets and set up a famous victory.

G. Cox – Batted with fire in his belly as usual and smashed 16 much needed runs in a hurry at the end. Bowled a nice line and length on a pitch designed for him to claim two notches on his personal wicket post.

Downing – Another who batted with urgency to help post a decent total on a bowlers strip. Didn’t get much swing, but bowled a tidy line and length to keep it tight and controlled. Also pouched a good catch to secure the significant wicket of Sanford.

N. Shewring – Smashed a very significant 9 runs as the curtain came down on the Rosaneri innings and then went on to get twists and turns out of a seamers wicket to put the visitors in trouble.

Ma. Freeman – Yet another not out with the bat, and bowled a delightful 4 over spell at a crucial phase in the game. Also pinged the ball in from the deep to secure a run out.

S. Underwood – Bowled one of the best spells ever seen at the club. It didn’t have the wickets usually associated with a devastating spell, but the accuracy and control was just what the skipper would have dreamt of. Amazingly only went for 14 runs in 8 overs. Top work.
