Vs Dunmow

Mi. Freeman – Bowled a very nice line and length opening spell to snaffle two very important early wickets in the face of an early run storm from a quality opening batsman. Opened the batting and was unlucky to get a jaffa before he had his eye in. Also held a cruise missile of a catch at mid on.

Alfieri – Fielded very well and took two nice catches to keep up his challenge for the Golden Fielder. Tony’s determination when batting was intense as he took apart a very good club opening attack with cavalier shots that raced to the boundary. A real fans favourite who now goes into the clash against The Cotswolds in the form of his life.

Leigh – This was Sheridan back to his brilliant best in an innings that he has been promising since Tendring in 2007. Everything clicked and he never really gave a sniff of a chance in an explosive and yet controlled 75. The straight six was a Champagne moment in any season.

Tyrrell – The wicket keeping was top grade and gave Rosaneri a very professional look in the field. The batting never got going in the unfamiliar 4 slot.

M. Cox – Fielded well even though the ball stayed away from him for long periods. The batting was undone this week by being stumped off a quality leg spinner.

A. Underwood – Bowled a nice little cameo at the end to remind the selectors that he has a lot to offer in the bowling department as well. Batted well, but got out at a time when he should have kicked on to guide the pinks home.

Jones – Took a few overs to find his range, but when he did everything looked very pleasing for Rosaneri fans. Batted with his usual style and recorded valuable runs in the bid to get over the winning line.

McHugh – Bowled a nice little spell, but his figures were damaged in the last over by an aggressive batsman in a hurry. Neil’s batting was calm and well paced as his experience helped get the job done in pulling off a famous victory. There was also a brilliant exhibition of boundary fielding.

Rose – Opened the bowling and mixed good with bad but didn’t manage to get the wicket that his good balls deserved. A duck with the bat.

Downing – Bowled very well and took 3 wickets but the figures would have been even better without 8 wides ! The wides outside off stump were extremely harsh and on another day would have been perfect wicket taking tempters. Came in at the end with minimum fuss to hit the winning runs in the last over.

N. Shewring – The spin king went about his work in the usual fashion and again was unlucky not to end up with more wickets. Continued his great run in the Golden Fielder by pouching two more catches.
