Great performance in Dunmow

Rosaneri pulled off probably their best victory to date with a 2 wicket margin against Dunmow.

Dunmow were asked to bat and they got off to an all action start. The runs started cranking up on the scoreboard as they set off at 8 an over, but a steady loss of wickets meant that both teams were happy at the 10 over mark.

Big Mike bowled a very nice opening four overs and deservedly took a brace of wickets. His second wicket was massive in the context of the game as a free flowing stylish batsman was pouched by Tony at square leg.

The inexperienced bowling attack was juggled around and the wickets kept on tumbling to leave the pinks well on top with 15 overs left. However a couple of good partnerships, particularly for the 10th wicket added vital runs for the home team who were eventually all out for 205.

It was a good session in the field for Rosaneri and it was particularly pleasing to take all 10 wickets again.

The bowlers worked well as a unit and can be really proud of their work.

Things could have been even better for Rosaneri but a resistant last wicket stand added a valuable 35 runs.

The Rosaneri reply begun badly in the face of a very good opening attack when Big Mike gloved one to the keeper to a ball that lifted sharply. Tony and Shell knuckled down though and took the fight to the bowlers with Tony particularly playing some memorable shots. A second wicket record partnership at a brisk 6 an over soon put the Pinks in control.

Andy and Adam carried on the good work and Shell went on to record a personal best of 75 before getting caught going for another big shot. Shell’s big straight six was literally batting perfection and will live in the memories of all witnesses for a long time to come.

Bonehead went in at a difficult time, but he showed all his experience to guide Rosaneri past the winning line.

This was a great result against a really nice opposition at a ground of superb quality. The team performance was sensational and the spirit was probably at an all time high.

A truly great day.
