Vs Buckhurst Hill

Tyrrell – Didn’t have his now usual swagger when batting against a lively attack. Took a brilliant catch diving away to his right when keeping wicket to maintain the chase of the Golden Fielder title.

M.Cox – Stepped in to help out at the last minute and bravely went about trying to blunt a ferocious opening attack. Will be mad at the way he got out again though.

Alfieri – Batted with grit and style, but just as he looked set for a nice score disaster struck. Literally didn’t get a touch in the field.

A. Underwood – The short boundaries and fast outfield should have suited, but the hostile fast bowling most certainly didn’t. Uncharacteristically dropped a catch when the pinks needed it most as well.

Downing – Steadied the ship with his batting and played a few nice shots until a poor thrash got him caught by the bowler. Bowled a lovely spell to return control to the captain and bagged a nice set of figures.

Rose – Had his business face on for batting and initially looked like he was going to record a big score, but was undone by some good bowling. Bowled at a crucial time under massive pressure and couldn’t get into his rhythm quickly enough.

Mi. Freeman – Looked very good while batting and mixed solid defence with attack against the right balls. Unlucky to get out when he did for not as many as his knock deserved. Captained well, but probably should have bowled himself especially as he batted at 7.

Ma. Freeman – Another great innings as Mat continues his journey to become a genuine all rounder. Played some lovely drives and managed to keep the ball on the floor for the vast majority of his strokes. Didn’t really settle when bowling but did manage to keep it tight and return superb figures.

G. Cox – Batted like a whirling dervish and had Rosaneri fans glued to his innings. Got his eye in straight away and smashed vital runs to give the pinks a chance. Bowled well in his first spell and not so well in a short second spell. Got a great wicket when finding the edge of the opener for Mr Bell to snaffle.

Ni. Shewring – The batting more or less bypassed him with a late collapse, but Nick bowled yet another top spell of leg spin. Varied pace and flight to keep the batsmen guessing and returned a very economical set of figures against a good batting line up.

S. Underwood – Got caught by a sensational slip catch that on another day would have gone for four. Bowled raggedly in his opening spell, but came back well from the other end to trap one plum lbw.
