Mi. Freeman – Fielded amazingly well and saved at least a couple of certain fours with full length diving stops. Bowled nicely, but not as good as last week in a two over spell to give others a breather. His batting for the club came of age though when he recorded his maiden fifty. An innings made up of some charming drives and an exhibition of exquisite leg glances. A gallant effort but not quiet enough to win the game.

Alfieri – Thrown in at the deep end by having to open but pulled it off like he had been doing it for years. Got stuck in with big Mike and only left the crease after 35 runs had been registered on the score board.

Leigh – Captained very well and juggled the bowling extremely well in roasting conditions. His wicket keeping was also of the highest possible standard with only 4 byes being conceded. The batting was looking really good until disaster struck when he visibly made a positive move to force the issue and got himself bowled.

Coxy – Fielded to his usual energy laden high standards and took a magnificent catch running in from the boundary. Came in to bat under enormous pressure with the slow run rate and died trying.

Levett – Had a great day in the field and was literally showing off when hurling the ball in on half power from the boundary. Got a first baller though when batting from the ball of the day.

Ni. Shewring – Another great bowling display and the chap that went on to get the 100 literally couldn’t play Nick which spoke volumes for how well he is bowling at present. Took another catch to go clear in the Golden Fielder competition, but did make an uncharacteristic complete ground fielding blooper off Jim.

Downing – Bowled a nice little spell, but not as good as the previous week. Looked like a fish out of water when throwing the bat from ball one in order to make a fight of it, but holed out too soon.

Mitchell – Another top exhibition of pace bowling. Didn’t give the batsmen an inch of room and kept the pressure cranked to the max. Unfortunately run out though for a Diamond duck when up for taking up the battle with the bat.

S. Underwood – His figures were not as tight and controlled as usual but he did bowl very well. Most significantly he came back from being hit for a massive six to clean bowl the home team’s star batsman. Unbeaten with the bat as the game unfortunately moved to the irrelevant stage.

Ma. Freeman – Generated chances when bowling but the ball always dropped into no mans land. Conceded a surprising amount of runs as a few edges in succession raced away for fours. Didn’t get a chance with the bat when he seemed all revved up to go and win it.

Sindrey – Bowled a nice opening spell conceding hardly any in a very fast 5 over burst. But the second spell turned into a nightmare after a dropped catch rocked his confidence and the run count went through the roof. Another who didn’t get a go with the bat when positivity and spirit was leaking from his joints.
