Fives

Tyrrell – Started off like he was in a Twenty/20 clash and got the scoreboard racing early on. Left the crease having done his job with the bat, but had a bit of a quiet day behind the stumps for his usual all action standards.

Mi. Freeman – Got lured into an early attacking shot outside of his comfort zone and paid the price.

M. Cox – Got off the mark quickly but couldn’t go on to make a score. Held a brilliant catch to lift pink spirits in the field.

A. Underwood – Business as usual with the bat until the party was ended abruptly by a jaffa of a ball from a change of bowling.

Shuttlewood – Played as a batsman and struggled to get going on a beast of a batting strip.

Downing – Completely gave his wicket away by looking to attack before 100% set and got himself stumped.

Ma. Freeman – Batted with guts and determination even in the face of being struck on the chin by a lifter. Formed a crucial partnership with Sinders to give the away fans some hope. Seemed a bit flat when bowling on a surface that should have reaped him massive rewards though.

G. Cox – Got out second ball with a very loose shot. Started off in average form with the ball but got better and better as his spell progressed.

Rose – Missed out with the bat this week with plenty of overs to have a go, but did get a wicket when given a brief chance with the ball.

Sindrey – Batted with a calm approach and did the basics superbly by defending the straight ones and whacking anything with width. Went on to record a personal best of 41 not out. Picked up a wicket and did beat the bat on a few occasions but probably should have done better on a pitch that was made for bowlers.

Ni. Shewring – Picked up another 3 fer and in hindsight maybe could have opened the bowling to give the batsmen an uncomfortable start. Nick is in the form of his life and that elusive 5 fer is surely just around the corner.
